Just a friendly reminder Black Lives Still Matter.
I just got this face mask in the mail to support Baltimore Inner City and I wanted to share it with you. This mask if from the RICH Program, Restoring Inner City Hope.
This BLM Baltimore mask will help fund youth leadership programs, workforce development programs, and our reach events.
The month of June has been difficult in the world to say the least. I took some time to be silent on my end and really listen and learn about what is going on in the world. I’ve had more uncomfortable conversations with my Husband, friends, and peers more than ever.
First I think it’s important to say, BLACK LIVES MATTER. I live in a city that is over 60% Black. It is important that as a member in my community I make effort everyday to support Black owned businesses. Support my Black friends. Support all the incredible things that are done for my community.
I might not post on social media every day, but my way of doing better on the BLM movement is how I spent my money every day. I see that not everyone in the world is dealing with this in the same way. If you want to share every day on your social media how the world needs to change, DO IT! If you want to dine at Black owned restaurants everyday, DO IT! However you want to share, support, or spend, it’s important to do what is best for you. No matter how you support the important thing is that YOU SUPPORT!
As someone in their late twenties. Yes late twenties, wow I don’t think I’ve ever said that before. Friendship is so important. Quality over quantity. The last 2 years I feel like the quality piece has really come out. Here are my tips!
SHOW UP. It sounds so simple but show up for your friends. If you make plans keep them. Show up on time. Be fully committed to the friendship.
Be there for your friends. If they make the wrong decision don’t walk away. Stand by their side and support them all the way.
Check in on them. Friendship should never be a one way relationship. You should never be the only friend checking in on your friends. It should be a 50/50 split.
Never leave your friend on read. Life happens. But it’s important to show up when your friend needs you. Regardless if that means you are 20 min away or a 4 hour flight away.
If you are anything like me you are always looking to find a good deal, and to be honest who isn’t! Especially during uncertain times like these it’s always good to be able to save a couple extra pennies.
Last weekend Tony and I stopped at the Dollar Store, and found a ton of things we normally buy at Target or other retailers for much less. Sharing with you guys a comparison and total cost savings!
Crest 3D White toothpaste $2.99 at Target
Ice Pop Mold $7.45 at Walmart
SmallVase $5 I actually bought the same exact vase that I bought from a local flower vendor at the dollar store that I did from the local vendor! Wow! I could have bought 5 before!
For anyone that has to celebrate their Birthday in quarantine I definitely feel for you! You can’t go to dinner at your favorite restaurant. You can’t have drinks at your favorite cocktail bar. You can’t have a big get together with all of your friends. But its okay! We are in this together.
I just celebrated my Birthday on April 16th and I still had a BLAST! My husband created a Birthday Wonderland that was so perfect in every way!
Here are the FIVE things we did to make my birthday a blast!
Decorations! Just because you can’t have anyone over doesn’t mean you shouldn’t decorate.
Signature Cocktail! I made a Birthday Cake Cocktail. Yum!
Ordered dinner for take out from an amazing restaurant and put it on real plates to make it seem like we were really there!
Flowers! Because what birthday is complete without flowers!
Zoom! We planned a virtual birthday party, full of cocktail sipping and games! We downloaded a party pack of jackbox games to play with friends!
To my amazing friend Becca, I wish you the happiest birthday. I am so very thankful to have had you in my life since we were little kids. I am so sorry that 28 has to be celebrated in such a scary world, but I would like to thank you for all the amazing things you have taught me over the years!
Here are 5 things you taught me about life.
Do what makes you happy! Life is full of choices and it is too short to make a choice that won’t give you happiness.
You don’t have to have a full face of make up to leave the house every day. You are beautiful just being you!
Chase your dreams! No matter where in the world they take you.
Travel is good for the soul. There is always time to travel.
Don’t use the curling wand on your hair every day! Stop frying your hair, you don’t need to wash and curl every single day.
